Uyghur < > English      Chinese < > English

MA Applied Translation Studies, MA Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies.

My native language is Uyghur and I speak Mandarin as a second native language, as I was educated in China. I provide translation, interpreting, voiceover, sports commentary and editing services in the medical, sports, marketing and legal sectors.  I also speak English at a native level. I taught English in China for eight years before I came to England. I translate bi-directionally between Chinese/Uyghur and English.

I have worked in China, Malaysia and the UK in various roles.

I am currently working as a lecturer in translation technologies at the University of Leeds. I aim to be able to speak 10 languages before I turn 40 and currently I speak four fluently and adding my fifth and sixth.

I am passionate about world history, football and cooking. I am a geek when it comes to the nuts and bolts of languages!

As well as my three working languages, I speak Turkish and understand various central Asian languages including Kazakh, Uzbek and Turkmen. I am learning to speak French and Italian. Adding next skills all the time!
