I have over 15 years of interpretation and translation experience, both in Afghanistan and the United Kingdom. I also speak and translate in Pashto.
From 2006 -2014, I worked for KBR-UK and the British Foreign Office as a Technical and Civil Officer and I was also involved in translation for Afghan government officials and their international counterparts.
Since 2015 I have been working as an interpreter for the Fife Community Interpreting Services and I am a member the Sulha Alliance that campaigns for the rights of former Afghan interpreters who have served with the British Armed Forces.
In May 2021 I began working as a Consultant, Coordinator and Translator with the Royal United Services Institute, as part of Strengthening Resilience against Violent Extremism (STRIVE). I collaborate with the researcher, translate and provide transcripts and interview the Afghan journalists, media owners and the public on the role of Afghan media and journalism on peace and conflict.
